ContiOcean Completes Acquisition of Vessel OM Shanghai, Advancing Transition to “Atypical Shipowner”

ContiOcean Environment Tech Group Co., Ltd. announced on 17 April 2026 that full consideration for the purchase of the vessel OM Shanghai has been settled, and ownership hand-over was completed on 16 April 2026 in line with the OM Shanghai Memorandum of Agreement.

The transaction—previously classified as a discloseable acquisition—signals a strategic inflection point for ContiOcean. Management views the closing as a milestone that shifts the group from a purely marine environmental-technology R&D enterprise toward an “atypical shipowner” model. The revised positioning integrates the company’s core strengths in independent research, real-vessel verification and customer demonstration, aiming to broaden participation in the green maritime technology value chain.

The board composition remains unchanged following the deal, with Chairman Zhou Yang leading five executive directors and three independent non-executive directors.
