Prudential plc said it cancelled 254,593 ordinary shares on Apr, 17 2026 after completing on-market repurchases carried out two days earlier. The cancellation trimmed its issued share capital to 2,524,323,128 shares.
The insurer also disclosed that a further 604,630 shares bought back on Apr, 16 2026 and Apr, 17 2026 remain to be cancelled. These shares were repurchased on the London Stock Exchange at prices ranging from GBP 10.98 to GBP 11.27, for an aggregate consideration of about GBP 3.39 million on Apr, 17 2026 alone.
Under the shareholder mandate granted on May, 14 2025, Prudential is authorised to repurchase up to 262.7 million shares; to date it has bought back roughly 82.7 million shares, equal to 3.18 per cent of the company’s outstanding shares at the time the mandate was approved.
The company is subject to a moratorium on issuing new shares until May, 17 2026 following the latest repurchase.
