SpaceX Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk has laid out a vision of extending Starlink's connectivity capabilities across the entire solar system and even farther into deep space.

On Tuesday local time, a user on the X platform posted a video in which Michael Nicolls, SpaceX's vice president in charge of the Starlink business, said the company would use its Starlink satellite constellation to build a network linking the Moon and would later extend that connectivity to Mars.

"We will build an interplanetary internet, and the core driving force behind it is exactly the technologies we are currently using in the Starlink program," Nicolls said in the video.

Responding to the user's post, Musk said: "SpaceX will provide Starlink connectivity services across the entire solar system and the broader universe."

Recently, Musk heavily promoted Starlink's in-flight internet connectivity, after a passenger livestreamed a college football game on a flight using five different devices.

After the video was released, United Airlines praised the technology as "game-changing."

Meanwhile, SpaceX deployed its first batch of Starlink V3 satellites during the first orbital launch mission of the Starship rocket, its 14th test flight.

SpaceX is also seeking regulatory approval in Florida to build a 32.4-mile natural gas pipeline in Brevard County; the move is aimed at moving away from traditional truck transport, as existing pipelines can no longer meet the company's needs.

With SpaceX's share price rising recently, Musk's net worth has once again reached the trillion-dollar level.

Facing questions from critics such as independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, Musk defended his trillion-dollar fortune, calling Sanders and those like him "takers" and stressing that his wealth mainly stems from his equity holdings in SpaceX and Tesla Motors (TSLA).
