UBTECH ROBOTICS (HKEX: 09880) experienced a significant price increase of more than 16% during afternoon trading. At the time of writing, the stock was up 15.84% to HK$110.8, with a trading turnover of HK$1.478 billion.
The surge is linked to the company's scheduled global launch event today. The event will mark the official market debut of the U1, the inaugural full-size ultra-bionic humanoid robot under its consumer brand "UWorld." The final retail price for the U1 is set to be announced during this afternoon's presentation.
Company disclosures indicate that the mass production target for the U1 series this year is projected to reach 10,000 units. Furthermore, UBTECH ROBOTICS has also established a production capacity goal of 10,000 units for its industrial humanoid robots.
Analysts note that the practical application of humanoid robots is expanding from industrial settings such as warehouse logistics, production line assembly, and hazardous environment operations into domestic scenarios, including emotional companionship. Observations also suggest that the pace of deploying humanoid robots across various application fields has accelerated notably this year compared to the previous year.
