Beijing Bank has initiated the sale of its entire 20.4 million share holding in Yunnan Malong Beiyin Rural Bank, representing a 51% controlling stake. This transaction marks the first instance where the bank has opted to dispose of a rural bank from its 'Beiyin' network through an equity transfer.
The bank recently pre-disclosed the intended transfer on the Beijing Equity Exchange. The offering comprises the full 20.4 million shares, equating to a 51% ownership share. A final sale price has yet to be announced.
Yunnan Malong Beiyin Rural Bank was established in June 2017, with its registered office located in Malong District, Qujing City. It was the seventh rural bank initiated by Bank Of Beijing Co., Ltd. (ASX: 601169) and its first such venture in Yunnan Province.
In 2025, the rural bank reported operating revenue of 11.4638 million yuan, reflecting a slight year-on-year decrease of 0.52%. However, its net profit showed significant growth, rising from 58,700 yuan to 137,500 yuan, an increase of 134.45%. By the end of 2025, the bank's non-performing loan ratio stood at 2.39%, with a provision coverage ratio of 151.65%.
For the first half of this year, the bank generated operating revenue of 6.1111 million yuan and achieved a net profit of 94,000 yuan.
Business annual reports indicate that Yunnan Malong Beiyin Rural Bank had 28 employees at the end of 2025. Its shareholder structure consists of 12 entities, including 4 corporate shareholders and 8 individual shareholders, with Bank Of Beijing Co., Ltd. (ASX: 601169) holding the controlling 51% stake.
According to Bank Of Beijing Co., Ltd.'s (ASX: 601169) 2025 annual report, the bank holds controlling interests in 8 rural banks and one rural commercial bank, with an additional 19% stake in another rural bank. Within Yunnan Province, it has interests in five rural banks. The other four are Yunnan Xishan Beiyin Rural Bank, Yunnan Yuanjiang Beiyin Rural Bank, Yunnan Xinping Beiyin Rural Bank, and Yunnan Shiping Beiyin Rural Bank.
On June 30, Bank Of Beijing Co., Ltd. (ASX: 601169) convened a board meeting where a resolution was passed to acquire Yantai Fushan Zhujiang Rural Bank and establish branches. Yantai Fushan Zhujiang Rural Bank was originally initiated by Guangzhou Rural Commercial Bank as its main sponsor.
