Bank of China Fully Redeems RMB50.00 billion Write-down Undated Capital Bonds at First Call Date
Bulletin Express
May 20
Bank of China Limited announced the full redemption of its RMB50.00 billion write-down undated capital bonds originally issued on 17 May 2021.
The prospectus granted the issuer a call option exercisable on the fifth anniversary of issuance. In line with this provision, the Bank exercised the option and completed the redemption on 19 May 2026, settling the transaction in full.
The redemption removes the instrument—previously recognised as Additional Tier 1 capital—from the Bank’s capital structure, five years after issuance.
