Elanco Animal Health Inc (ELAN) shares surged 8.89% in pre-market trading on Wednesday, as investors reacted to the company's second-quarter financial results that handily exceeded Wall Street expectations and an upward revision to its full-year outlook.
The animal-health company reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.34 for the quarter, well above the $0.27 consensus estimate. Revenue climbed 10% year-over-year to $1.37 billion, surpassing the $1.31 billion analysts had forecast. The strong performance was driven by robust demand in the U.S. Pet Health segment, with new products Zenrelia and Credelio Quattro leading the growth.
Elanco also raised its fiscal 2026 revenue guidance to a range of $5.09 billion to $5.14 billion, up from its prior view of $5.01 billion to $5.09 billion, and lifted its adjusted EPS forecast to $1.10–$1.16, compared with the previous $1.03–$1.09. Both ranges topped analysts' estimates, reinforcing confidence in the company's innovation pipeline and pricing power.
