Shares of Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (YOFC) surged 15% in intraday trading, following the company's announcement that it will acquire the remaining 25% equity interest in its subsidiary, YOFC Shanghai, turning it into a wholly-owned unit.
The acquisition, priced at EUR12.00 million in cash, will allow YOFC to fully consolidate the financials of YOFC Shanghai and streamline upstream and downstream resources in optical fibres and cables. The deal represents a modest 6.3% premium to the attributable net asset value and is expected to enhance capacity alignment without altering existing management or business arrangements.
YOFC Shanghai reported revenue of RMB718.81 million and net profit of RMB4.85 million for the full year 2025, with total assets of RMB556.67 million. The market viewed the move as a positive step toward strengthening YOFC's operational control and long-term growth prospects in the optical fibre sector.
