Trinity Industries' stock soared 5.04% during intraday trading on Thursday, following the release of its first-quarter 2026 financial results and a substantial increase to its full-year earnings guidance.

The company reported Q1 earnings per share of $0.32, a 10.34% increase from $0.29 in the same period last year. On an adjusted basis, EPS of $0.30 surpassed the analyst consensus estimate of $0.28. While revenue for the quarter declined year-over-year to $492 million, the company's operational performance and outlook drove investor optimism.

Management significantly raised its full-year 2026 EPS guidance to a range of $2.20 to $2.40, up from the previous forecast of $1.85 to $2.10. The company cited higher gains on railcar sales, driven by an active secondary market, as a key factor for the improved outlook. This positive guidance revision, coupled with the earnings beat, fueled the stock's strong upward move during the session.
