The National Day holiday has ended, and the travel peak has subsided, causing airfare prices to "plummet." From major source cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, many routes have bare ticket prices as low as two to three hundred yuan. Reporters learned from online travel platforms that after the holiday, domestic airfare prices have seen a significant drop. Data monitoring shows that from October 10 to 31, the average paid price for domestic airfares was more than 30% lower than during the "Golden Week" holiday. Specifically, from major source cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou in Guangdong, many popular routes have bare ticket prices falling into the two to three hundred yuan range: Beijing to Lanzhou, Gansu as low as only 200 yuan, Shanghai to Lijiang also as low as 200 yuan, Beijing to Urumqi, Xinjiang as low as 300 yuan, and Guangzhou to Chengdu, Sichuan as low as 309 yuan. Even after adding the airport construction and fuel surcharge, such prices are still cost-effective. Many netizens said the price is too tempting, and they are ready to grab a deal right away. One passenger told reporters that during the National Day holiday, they had checked round-trip tickets from Beijing to Urumqi, when the price was as high as over 4,000 yuan. Considering the ticket price, they moved their travel plan to after the holiday and finally bought tickets departing on October 13 and returning on October 20. Even including the airport construction and fuel surcharge, the total round-trip price was only around 1,000 yuan. After the holiday, flights from Ningbo to multiple destinations are as low as 200 yuan and up. The Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday travel peak has concluded, and the domestic travel market has entered a window period for off-peak travel. As travel demand stabilizes, airfare prices on many popular domestic routes have fallen, combined with suitable autumn weather, providing favorable conditions for travelers to balance travel experience and cost-effectiveness. Currently, the official civil aviation direct sales platform of Umetrip shows that flights from Beijing to Hohhot, Hulunbuir, Dalian, from Shanghai to Wuhan, Qingdao, and from Guangzhou to Fuzhou, Quanzhou, Nanchang, among others, have tickets on sale for as low as around 300 yuan. Reporters checked a third-party ticketing platform and saw that in October, airfare prices from Ningbo to Dalian, Jinggangshan, Shijiazhuang, Guangzhou, Changsha, Guilin, and other destinations are as low as around 200 yuan (excluding taxes). According to a report by Qianjiang Video, reporters visited several travel agencies in Hangzhou and found that due to the peak and off-peak travel seasons affecting airfare and hotel prices, travel product prices after the National Day holiday have been reduced compared to during the holiday. A staff member at a physical store of a travel agency in Hangzhou said that the tour fee mainly depends on the peak and off-peak seasons of the destination and is affected by local airfare and hotel price fluctuations. Regarding the impact of the increase in airfare fuel surcharges, the staff member said that travel agencies sign contracts with airlines in advance to lock in seats, so for customers who have already registered, their prices are not affected by subsequent fuel surcharge increases; however, for new tour dates not yet launched, prices may rise due to the fuel surcharge increase. Domestic airfare fuel surcharges will increase starting October 10. According to CCTV News, reporters learned from China Southern Airlines and other airlines that starting from October 10 (inclusive), fuel surcharges for domestic airfare tickets sold will be increased. The adjusted standards are: for adult passengers, the fuel surcharge for routes of 800 kilometers (inclusive) or less is 50 yuan per flight segment; for routes over 800 kilometers, the fuel surcharge is 90 yuan per flight segment. Compared to before the adjustment, these have increased by 10 yuan and 20 yuan respectively. Autumn break takes over, family travel bookings rise. In November, primary and secondary school students in many parts of China will have their autumn break, and family travel is heating up again. Many travelers have already started to lock in low-priced tickets after the holiday in advance. Data shows that for long-term tickets departing from cities such as Chengdu in Sichuan, Nanjing in Jiangsu, Beijing, and Shanghai, bookings from October 15 to November 15 increased by 40% month-on-month.
