The world's largest contract chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE: TSM) reported September revenue of NT$511.86 billion (US$16.03 billion), a 54.6% increase compared to the same period last year, while slipping 0.6% from August on a sequential basis.
The company's third-quarter revenue came in at approximately NT$1.49 trillion.
Ahead of the release of this monthly revenue data, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE: TSM) shares closed down 1.35%.
Nvidia and Apple are both clients of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing. With demand for high-end artificial intelligence chips surging, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing has emerged as a major beneficiary.
In September of this year, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing confirmed it would purchase ASML's High-NA EUV lithography machines. This equipment represents core technology for manufacturing more advanced chips, making Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing a customer for this new technology alongside Samsung Electronics.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing is scheduled to officially release its complete third-quarter financial report next week.
