Ping An Bank Co.,Ltd. Vice President Fang Weihao stated during the bank's 2026 interim results conference that the overall growth rate for its corporate banking business in the first half of the year was 9.5%, placing it in the middle-to-upper tier among comparable banks.
Fang Weihao noted that the bank's corporate banking division is currently in a transition phase between old and new growth drivers. This period of transition is expected to continue through the second half of the year and may persist for a relatively long time, potentially one to two years, to complete the shift.
According to Fang Weihao, the primary focus for the second half of the year is twofold: first, stabilizing the old, and second, promoting the new. Stabilizing the old involves actively maintaining the stability of so-called old drivers, including sectors such as commercial services, infrastructure, and public utilities. The bank will also actively seek new opportunities that may arise within these areas, capitalizing on them while ensuring the core asset base does not decline.
On the promotional front, the bank is continuously building up its pipelines in various industries and investing in new sectors. Efforts will be deepened around key regions, key products, and key branches to accelerate the growth momentum of new drivers. Additionally, Ping An Bank Co.,Ltd. has already made solid preparations in the inclusive and small-to-medium enterprise space, showing potential for future volume growth.
Looking ahead to the second half of the year, Fang Weihao expressed that the bank will actively advance both stabilizing the old and promoting the new, ensuring both efforts are equally strong. This approach aims to maintain steady and upward growth in the corporate banking business while laying the foundation and momentum for future development.
