Hong Kong Stocks Open Lower as Hang Seng Index Drops 0.41%, Tech Shares Mixed, Biotech Plays Active

U.S. stocks pulled back on Wednesday as bond yields climbed once again, weighing on the broader market, with all three major indices closing in the red. The dollar remained firm, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield rebounded to the 4.28% level, gold prices came under pressure, while oil prices fluctuated at elevated levels.

Hong Kong's three major indices all opened lower today. The Hang Seng Index fell 0.41% at the open to 24,031.66 points, the Hang Seng Tech Index dropped 0.25%, and the State-owned Enterprises Index declined 0.23%.

On the board, internet sector stocks were mixed, with Baidu falling more than 1%. Innovative drug concept stocks were active, with Lepu Biopharma surging over 4%. Mainland property stocks partially advanced, with Country Garden rising more than 1%. Gold stocks mostly declined, with Shandong Gold dropping over 1%.
