Coursera, Inc. (COUR) experienced a significant after-hours plunge of 8.71% following the release of its first-quarter 2026 financial results.

The online education platform reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.07, missing the analyst consensus estimate of $0.08. While quarterly sales of $195.7 million slightly exceeded expectations, the company's net loss widened to $20.5 million. Furthermore, adjusted EBITDA fell 28% to $13.5 million year-over-year.

Investor sentiment was further impacted by the company's second-quarter revenue outlook of $196 million to $200 million, which appears to be at or below the consensus estimate of $200.69 million. Coursera also reaffirmed its full-year revenue guidance of $805 million to $815 million and mentioned it is moving quickly on integration planning for its expected all-stock combination with Udemy.
