Stock Track | Boustead Singapore Plummets 3.20% Intraday on Earnings Quality Concerns

Stock Track
Jun 02

Boustead Singapore's stock fell 3.20% during intraday trading on Tuesday, as investors reacted to concerns about the quality of the company's recent earnings report.

The decline followed an analysis highlighting issues with Boustead Singapore's financial performance, including a high accrual ratio of 0.83 that indicates poor conversion of reported profits to free cash flow. Despite reporting a profit of S$232.6 million for the twelve months to March 2026, the company actually had negative free cash flow of S$84 million during that period.

Further concerns were raised about the sustainability of the company's profits, with unusual items contributing S$127 million to the reported earnings. Analysts noted that such unusual items are often non-recurring, suggesting the statutory profits may give investors an overly positive impression of the company's underlying financial health.
