While AirPods equipped with cameras aren't expected until next year, new reports suggest Apple might unveil AirPods 5 as early as next month during its iPhone event, according to Bloomberg.

In a comprehensive report published late last night, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman indicated that Apple could release a new Mac mini within the coming days, ahead of its anticipated September product launch. Gurman also shared details on several other products in development, including AirPods 5. The new earbuds could debut as soon as next month. He noted that Apple's next major event is expected to take place on September 9, where the company will also reveal its first foldable iPhone, the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, and new Apple Watch models. In his report, Gurman wrote: Gurman later added to his coverage on X, stating that AirPods 5 will come in both a standard version and an active noise-cancelling (ANC) variant.

Previously, there had been little information about the timing of AirPods 5, which was widely believed to launch in 2027. Meanwhile, Apple is reportedly working on two camera-equipped AirPods models that will leverage Visual Intelligence and Siri to power AI features. Recently, Apple accidentally included a demo video showcasing the camera-enabled AirPods in a candidate release of macOS 26.7. However, the footage did not clearly reveal the hardware design changes for the device.
