The State Administration of Foreign Exchange disclosed on August 7 that China's foreign exchange reserves stood at $3.4188 trillion as of the end of July 2026. This figure represents an increase of $25 billion, or 0.07%, compared to the end of June.
During July, global macro conditions, along with monetary policy shifts in major economies, contributed to a decline in the U.S. dollar index. As a result, prices of major global financial assets saw mixed movements. The combined effects of currency translation and changes in asset prices led to the increase in the month's foreign exchange reserves.
China's economy is demonstrating a trend of shifting momentum towards innovation and an improving structure, showcasing strong resilience and vitality. This development is conducive to maintaining the basic stability of the foreign exchange reserves scale.
