EAST BUY Expands into Healthy Staple Foods with New Low-GI Grain-Based Range

Deep News
Jul 17

EAST BUY has officially launched a new series of low-glycemic index (GI) grain-based pastries and buns.

The products were made available for priority purchase to members on the EAST BUY app from July 15th to 16th, with a full public release across all platforms commencing on July 17th.

This launch is aimed at broadening the brand's portfolio of proprietary health-focused food items, offering consumers new, high-quality staple food options that balance health benefits, nutrition, taste, and convenience.

The initial lineup consists of six distinct products: a low-GI multigrain steamed bun, a low-GI vegetable breakfast bun, a low-GI three-mushroom bun, a low-GI rose and red bean bun, a low-GI Wuta Cai (a type of leafy green) bun, and a low-GI shepherd's purse and shiitake mushroom bun.

All items have undergone human clinical trials in accordance with the national standard "Determination of Glycemic Index of Foods" (WS/T 652-2019), with confirmed GI values not exceeding 55, and accompanied by complete testing reports.

Furthermore, the products have been screened for 27 common pharmaceutical anti-diabetic compounds, with none detected.

This rigorous testing protocol stands in contrast to practices within some segments of the industry that may rely on in-vitro substitute tests or, in violation of regulations, add unauthorized sugar-lowering drugs to their products.
