Via Transportation Confronts Class Action Lawsuit Over Securities Fraud, Share Price Plummets Nearly 70%

Via Transportation, Inc. is currently facing a securities fraud class action lawsuit, with several shareholder rights law firms having initiated legal proceedings on behalf of investors. The lawsuit alleges the company disseminated false and misleading information in its September 2025 initial public offering documents, causing significant harm to investors.

The legal complaint asserts that Via's IPO filings painted a misleading picture of robust and sustainable revenue growth for investors, specifically highlighting the purported success of its "capture and expand" strategy in Germany. In reality, the company's growth had stalled prior to the IPO, evidenced by a decline in platform annual recurring revenue and significant obstacles to its expansion in the German market.

As these facts came to light, Via's stock price suffered a series of severe declines. On November 13, 2025, the company disclosed the first quarterly drop in annual recurring revenue per customer in eight quarters, causing the share price to fall approximately 15% to $43.14. A further decline of nearly 8% to $17.18 occurred on February 27, 2026, when Via acknowledged facing regulatory headwinds in Germany. The stock plunged another 17% to $14.12 on May 12, 2026, following the revelation of ongoing funding and budgetary pressures in the German market. At the time the lawsuit was filed, the share price stood at $14.52, representing a cumulative loss of nearly 70% from its IPO price of $46.

The class action is brought on behalf of investors who purchased Via common stock between September 9, 2025, and June 9, 2026. Investors have until August 10, 2026, to petition the court to be appointed as the lead plaintiff. The lead plaintiff will oversee the litigation process on behalf of all class members, with several national shareholder rights firms already involved in the case.
