Beijing's municipal commerce authority has announced an expansion of its consumer trade-in subsidy program. The update includes ten new categories of smart home products eligible for financial support, with subsidies reaching up to 1,500 yuan per item.

The newly added products for which subsidies are available include smart door locks, smart security cameras, smart floor cleaners (including smart mops and vacuum cleaners), smart toilets (including smart toilet seats), digital cameras (including action cameras), smart headphones, whole-home smart hubs (including smart home servers and gateways), smart beds (including smart mattresses), smart electric wheelchairs, and embodied intelligent robots (including companion robots, robotic dogs, exoskeleton robots, and elderly care robots).

To qualify, the newly added products must possess intelligent functionality and have a standardized national product code. For items with energy or water efficiency ratings, the highest efficiency grade is required.

The subsidy standard is set at 15% of the final sales price of the eligible smart home products, after all other discounts and promotions are applied. Each individual is eligible for a subsidy on one item per category, with a maximum subsidy of 1,500 yuan per product.

The subsidy for these ten categories will be applied as an instant discount at the point of sale. Consumers must complete real-name verification through the "Jingtong" mobile app, access the "Smart Home Subsidy" section, and obtain a subsidy voucher code for their desired product. The discount is then applied during the payment process when purchasing from a participating retailer, with the same subsidy available for both online and in-store purchases.

Products receiving the subsidy must be unboxed for verification to ensure they match the sales order, and consumers are required to cooperate by providing relevant photographs. Regulations concerning the use, unbinding, or cancellation of subsidy vouchers, returns processing, participating retailers, and fund settlement will follow the existing detailed implementation rules for Beijing's 2026 home appliance trade-in and new product purchase subsidy program.

The inclusion of these ten smart home product categories in the subsidy program takes effect immediately upon the announcement's release and will continue until the allocated subsidy funds are exhausted. The municipal commerce bureau is responsible for interpreting this announcement and may make adjustments as necessary based on specific circumstances.
