Sing Investments & Finance Ltd booked a record net profit of S$25.17 million for the six months ended Jun 30 2026, up 16 per cent year-on-year, supported by a wider net interest margin and double-digit loan growth.

Total income, which the company classifies as revenue, rose 13 per cent YoY to S$46.21 million. Annualised earnings per share increased to 21.47 Singapore cents from 18.35 cents a year earlier. The board did not declare an interim dividend, in line with the previous corresponding period.

Net interest income climbed 17 per cent to S$41.60 million, aided by a 29-basis-point increase in net interest margin to 2.44 per cent and a 10 per cent rise in customer loans to S$2.89 billion. Non-interest income eased 11 per cent to S$4.61 million as fee and commission revenue fell to S$2.19 million, offset partially by a 4 per cent uptick in rental income to S$2.09 million. Profit before income tax grew 16 per cent to S$30.33 million.

Operating expenses rose 6 per cent to S$15.81 million, largely from higher staff costs, but the cost-to-income ratio still improved to 34.2 per cent from 36.6 per cent a year earlier. Credit provisions were minimal at S$0.08 million versus a S$0.26 million write-back in the prior year’s first half. Asset quality remained solid with the non-performing loan ratio at 0.3 per cent, while the loans-to-deposits ratio edged up to 89.5 per cent. Capital adequacy stood at 14.4 per cent, compared with 14.9 per cent a year ago.

Looking ahead, the finance company indicated it will maintain a cautious stance amid heightened geopolitical risks, rising energy costs and expectations of higher domestic interest rates that could pressure funding costs. Management said it intends to preserve robust capital and liquidity buffers while continuing selective loan growth and focusing on risk management to sustain returns.
