CSPC Pharmaceutical Group Limited has commenced the Phase II clinical trial of SYH2070 Injection at its first centre in China.
The investigational therapy is a GalNAc-conjugated small-interfering RNA designed to silence angiopoietin-like 3 (ANGPTL3) mRNA in hepatocytes, thereby lowering triglycerides (TG) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) through sustained enhancement of lipoprotein lipase activity and inhibition of endothelial lipase activity. CSPC emphasises that the mechanism could allow simultaneous, durable lipid reductions with extended dosing intervals, potentially improving patient adherence versus current multi-drug regimens.
Regulatory pathway: The National Medical Products Administration granted a Clinical Trial Approval Notice (Acceptance No. 2025LP02566) in September 2025. CSPC has since completed a Phase I study and advanced directly to this Phase II stage.
Trial design: The multicentre, placebo-controlled study will enrol 240 patients with mixed hyperlipidaemia currently receiving lipid-lowering therapy. End-points include efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetics and immunogenicity. Patient recruitment and screening are in progress.
No financial figures were disclosed in the announcement. CSPC’s Board, chaired by Mr Cai Dong Chen, authorised the release dated 7 July 2026.
