Hong Kong Monetary Authority Reports Official Forex Reserves at $447.8 Billion at End of July

Official data from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) released on August 7 shows that the city's official foreign exchange reserve assets stood at $447.8 billion at the end of July 2026, compared to $445.9 billion at the end of June 2026.

No outstanding foreign exchange contracts were recorded for either end of July or end of June 2026. The total foreign reserve assets of $447.8 billion represent more than five times the amount of Hong Kong's currency in circulation, or approximately 38% of the Hong Kong dollar money supply M3.
