ORA BANDA MINING LTD (OBM.AU) experienced a significant price surge of 7.17% during intraday trading on Tuesday, reflecting strong investor optimism.
The rally follows the company's announcement of a strategic plan to double its production profile over the next three years, which has bolstered its medium-term outlook. The board has approved the construction of a new 3.0 million tonnes per annum processing plant at Davyhurst for AU$375 million, with commissioning targeted for the third quarter of fiscal 2028. This expansion is projected to increase combined milling capacity to 4.2 million tonnes per annum by fiscal 2029 and is expected to reduce unit costs through increased scale, elimination of third-party milling reliance, and improved operational flexibility.
Additionally, the company has secured approval for the development of the Waihi underground mine as its third underground operation, involving an investment of AU$90 million. This development is focused on the high-grade Golden Pole lode, recently identified through drilling. Brokerage firm Euroz Hartleys maintained its buy rating on the stock with a price target of AU$1.92, citing the strengthened operational leverage to gold prices.
