The first AI-native vehicle co-created by SAIC Roewe and ByteDance's Volcano Engine, the Roewe Family Joy 07, has officially made its debut at the Chengdu Motor Show, opening its doors to the public for an up-close experience for the first time.
Positioned as the "top-tier large five-seater in the 150,000 yuan class," the Roewe Family Joy 07 opened for blind orders on August 13. By the eve of the Chengdu Motor Show, cumulative orders within just seven days of blind ordering had surpassed 10,000 units, with families with children accounting for over 70% of the total. Qian Yang, General Manager of the SAIC Roewe Brand Division, stated at the launch event, "The Family Joy 07 is simply a car built for Chinese families."
The Family Joy 07 boasts a 915L trunk and 41 storage compartments throughout the vehicle. The seat fabric uses OEKO-TEX baby-grade safety and eco-friendly certification, with soft wrapping in high-frequency touch areas. The OMS+DMS system can sense the sleep state of passengers, prompting the AI to automatically dim the lights and lower the volume, while the mCDC intelligent variable damping suspension anticipates road bumps in advance. A 15.6-inch 2.5K rear ceiling screen has received German Rheinland anti-blue-light certification and features a dynamic floating screen anti-motion-sickness solution. The AI aura ambient lighting, composed of 277 independent lamp beads, can display 256 colors and dynamic effects.
Once the rear small table is unfolded, it can instantly transform into a children's play table. The industry's first ice-making "Ice King" in-car refrigerator features a 7.5L capacity, reaching as low as -6°C and capable of making ice in as fast as 10 minutes, while incorporating Midea's flagship refrigerator PST+ plasma purification and sterilization technology. The Family Joy 07's front passenger seat is equipped with an exclusive in-car beauty vanity, integrating an independent makeup mirror and a 3-level adjustable fill light, along with dedicated storage for cosmetics. It is also equipped with a NASA-standard zero-gravity seat.
The vehicle supports family accounts, long-term memory, and Face ID recognition, automatically matching seat and other usage habits and preferences based on the identity of family members. The AI can also uniformly coordinate functions such as space, seats, refrigerator, screen, and lighting. The Family Joy 07 will feature an integrated hardware-software solution consisting of the latest Momenta R7 world model and the Xinheng Hangtu XHEART X7 large-model dedicated chip.
This system is designed to handle challenging Chinese road scenarios such as mixed pedestrian-vehicle traffic, complex roundabouts, six-way intersections, and narrow roads with stone piers. On long highway journeys, it takes over tedious, repetitive operations to alleviate driver fatigue. It can adapt to over 300 types of parking spaces, with a one-attempt parking success rate exceeding 90%.
In terms of range, the Family Joy 07 offers a 320km CLTC pure electric range and a combined CLTC range of up to 1480km. The 32.6kWh version achieves a WLTC low fuel consumption of just 4.97L/100km in depleted battery conditions. Additionally, SAIC Roewe has deeply co-created a complete AI-native experience with ByteDance's Volcano Engine. Unlike ordinary vehicle systems that simply add AI features, the Family Joy 07 possesses a unified AI brain that can understand family travel scenarios, connecting the seats, lighting, refrigerator, audio, intelligent driving, and other vehicle-wide hardware, achieving an upgrade from "people finding the car and giving commands" to "the car understanding people and serving proactively."
