Prudential plc trims share count with new buybacks

Prudential plc announced on Apr, 28 2026 that it cancelled 320,663 ordinary shares repurchased on Apr, 23 2026 and bought back a further 449,197 ordinary shares on Apr, 27 2026 through the London Stock Exchange for about 8.6 million Singapore dollars.

The latest purchases were executed at prices between GBP 11.18 and GBP 11.38 per share, giving a volume-weighted average cost of approximately GBP 11.24.

After these transactions, Prudential’s outstanding share capital fell to 2,522,407,333 ordinary shares. The company still has 736,408 shares awaiting cancellation, representing 0.029% of its issued share base.

The buybacks form part of a broader repurchase mandate approved on May, 14 2025 for up to 262.67 million shares, of which 84.77 million shares (about 3.25% of the shares outstanding at mandate date) have been repurchased so far.

Under Hong Kong listing rules, Prudential is subject to a moratorium on new share issues or sales of treasury shares until May, 27 2026.
