Keysight Technologies' stock surged 5.39% in after-hours trading following the release of its fiscal second-quarter financial results, which significantly exceeded analyst expectations.
The test-equipment maker reported adjusted earnings per share of $2.87 for the quarter, handily beating the consensus estimate of $2.32. Revenue rose 31% year-over-year to $1.72 billion, also topping expectations. The company cited the performance as the "strongest quarter in the company's history," with orders surging 56% to $2.05 billion.
Investors further cheered the company's upbeat third-quarter outlook. Keysight expects adjusted EPS between $2.43 and $2.49 on revenue of $1.73 billion to $1.75 billion, both well above current analyst forecasts. CEO Satish Dhanasekaran attributed the strong results to accelerating demand and a robust pipeline of opportunities, leading the company to raise its full-year expectations.
