CIG's stock price surged 5.61% during intraday trading on Thursday, following the company's announcement of a new H-share placement to fund its growth strategy.

The company disclosed plans to issue 15.6 million new H-shares at HK$126.66 per share, aiming to raise approximately HK$19.67 billion in net proceeds. The funds are earmarked for building strategic reserves of core components, supplementing working capital, and accelerating its globalization strategy, particularly amid tight supply for key materials like DSP and optical chips needed for high-end optical module production.

This fundraising move comes alongside robust financial results, with the company reporting a 276.44% year-over-year surge in net profit for the first quarter. Its business momentum remains strong, with 800G silicon photonic modules in volume shipment to North American clients and 1.6T products having entered mass production, supporting future growth prospects.
