Financial Frontline reported on August 17 that Ping An Bank Co.,Ltd. held its 2026 interim results conference today. Executive Assistant Wang Jun stated that wealth management should not only help clients manage their assets but also make financial services more personalized and empathetic.
Moving forward, Ping An Bank Co.,Ltd. will focus on improving customer segmentation, enhancing team capabilities, and delivering more professional services to clients. When discussing the optimization of wealth management and AUM structure for the second half of the year, Wang Jun noted that the current low-interest-rate environment presents both opportunities and challenges. On one hand, the demand for wealth management among residents continues to grow, leaving significant room for development. On the other hand, the market environment is increasingly complex and uncertain, placing higher demands on professional expertise in wealth management.
Wang Jun emphasized that the primary goal for the second half of the year is to further optimize the AUM structure. The bank aims for AUM growth that is truly profitable, moving away from the pursuit of mere scale expansion without corresponding benefits. Three key priorities will be pursued. First, the bank will continue to prioritize customer needs, shifting from a product-finding-customer approach to a customer-matching-product model. This involves deepening customer segmentation and providing tailored products based on clients' asset status, risk preferences, and life-cycle needs. The focus will shift from individual product and single-point-in-time growth to the overall development and change in customer scale.
Second, the bank will persist in building professional capabilities to make wealth management services more precise and empathetic. This includes enhancing the ability to diversify asset allocation, strengthening team building, and improving the rate of return on client assets. Third, the bank will further solidify its differentiated bancassurance positioning. Bancassurance remains a core competitive advantage for Ping An Bank Co.,Ltd. wealth management. The bank will leverage Ping An's ecosystem resources to sustain growth in the bancassurance business, maintaining its competitiveness. Additionally, it will boost non-insurance businesses to create an effective new growth driver.
Wang Jun stressed that wealth management is not just a one-time transaction; the bank aims to establish long-term relationships. The goal is to ensure that clients can find suitable products when needed, and that during market volatility, the bank's products can outperform peers. Over the long term, clients should benefit from the bank's professional services. "We must fulfill the people-centered nature of financial work, meet the basic requirements of investor suitability management, and make fundamental contributions to the long-term, high-quality development of Ping An Bank's wealth management," Wang Jun said.
