Following its previous safety guarantee for smart parking, BYD has further intensified its commitment in the intelligent driving domain. The company has become the first to pledge a one-year safety guarantee for its urban navigation assist feature. It also announced that its entire vehicle lineup can be equipped with the "Tianshen Zhiyan B" advanced driver-assistance system with lidar, available as a 12,000 yuan option, thereby initiating an era of mass-market urban navigation. This move aims to build user confidence in adopting the Tianshen Zhiyan system, promote the widespread use of driver-assistance technology, and ensure advanced technology is accessible and trustworthy for everyone.
Furthermore, BYD unveiled China's first 4-nanometer process autonomous driving chip, the "Xuanji A3," accelerating the progression into the latter stage of vehicle intelligence and leading the global automotive industry's intelligent transformation.
Starting from genuine human needs, BYD has established three major goals for the next phase of automotive intelligence. BYD is pioneering the mass-market urban navigation era by being the first to offer a safety guarantee for this feature. In February 2025, BYD launched its "Mass Intelligent Driving" strategy, announcing that the Tianshen Zhiyan system would be standard across its model range. At this event, adhering to the principle of "making good technology accessible to all," BYD declared the start of the mass urban navigation era. Its entire lineup can now be equipped with the Tianshen Zhiyan B system with lidar for 12,000 yuan. Additionally, the Tianshen Zhiyan C system is set for a major functional upgrade via an over-the-air update expected in December this year.
Following the introduction of the smart parking safety guarantee last July, the usage rate of the Tianshen Zhiyan smart parking function increased from an initial 21% to the current 93%, with the accident rate for smart parking being nearly zero. Based on confidence in its Tianshen Zhiyan technology and a responsible attitude towards consumers, BYD has once again taken the lead by committing to a safety guarantee for urban navigation. If a responsible traffic accident occurs while using the urban navigation function compliantly, the direct economic losses to be borne by the vehicle owner (including vehicle repair costs, third-party property damage, and personal injury losses) will be covered by BYD.
Compared to common driver-assurance insurance in the industry, BYD's urban navigation guarantee is entirely free, has no upper limit, and will not affect the following year's commercial insurance premiums. Consequently, BYD becomes the world's first automaker to offer dual safety guarantees for both urban navigation and smart parking, taking concrete action to integrate advanced driver-assistance systems seamlessly into users' daily travel and lives, ensuring they gain a safe experience.
The technical confidence behind BYD's willingness to provide this guarantee stems from three unique advantages of the Tianshen Zhiyan system. First is scale: BYD has over 3.15 million vehicles equipped with its driver-assistance systems on the road, ranking first among Chinese automakers. Second is data: the Tianshen Zhiyan system generates data from over 200 million kilometers of driving daily, also leading Chinese automakers.
