Kunlun Energy buys back 1.49 million shares on 29 June; cumulative 2026 repurchases at 12.74 million shares

Jun 29

Kunlun Energy Company Limited disclosed that it repurchased 1.49 million ordinary shares on 29 June 2026 via on-exchange transactions at prices between HK$6.42 and HK$6.58 per share, spending a total of HK$9.69 million. The volume-weighted average cost for the day was HK$6.5065 per share. All shares bought back are earmarked for cancellation.

Including this latest tranche, the group has acquired 12.74 million shares since shareholders granted a 12-month buyback mandate authorising the repurchase of up to 865.88 million shares (10% of shares then in issue) on 28 May 2026. The shares repurchased to date represent approximately 0.15% of the company’s issued share capital at the mandate date, indicating ample remaining headroom under the authorisation.

In addition to the 29 June purchase, a further 5.45 million shares bought between 16 June and 24 June—at average prices ranging from HK$6.67 to HK$6.85—also await cancellation. In total, 6.94 million shares are pending cancellation, equivalent to 0.08% of Kunlun Energy’s current issued share base.

Despite the ongoing buybacks, Kunlun Energy’s issued share capital stood unchanged at 8.64 billion shares as at both 25 June and 29 June 2026, as the repurchased shares had not yet been cancelled.

Under Listing Rules, the company is subject to a 30-day moratorium—ending 29 July 2026—on issuing new shares or selling any treasury shares following the latest repurchase. Kunlun Energy confirmed that all transactions complied with Hong Kong Stock Exchange requirements and that no material changes have been made to the repurchase mandate’s explanatory statement.
