As summer travel demand remains high, Lijiang Airport has seen continuous growth in flight movements and passenger throughput, with strong travel needs requiring more convenient airport services for the public. The newly launched downtown check-in center was developed by the Lijiang Regional Airport Management Branch in collaboration with Lijiang Civil Aviation Blue Sky Travel Automotive Service Co., Ltd. It aims to address the urgent needs of travelers, uphold a service philosophy of being "one step ahead," continuously improve the city's aviation travel support system, break down barriers between the urban area and the airport, shorten the distance between city and airport, and further enhance the quality of passenger services at Lijiang Airport.
This partnership has innovatively created a new air-ground integrated service model featuring "urban pre-processing plus dedicated shuttle buses direct to the airport." It successfully extends airport aviation services from the terminal to key passenger flow areas in the city, effectively filling the gap in urban pre-airport services. Travelers can complete pre-boarding procedures such as flight verification, seat selection, and baggage information registration at the downtown check-in point. Staff also provide advance explanations of each airline's baggage allowance and fee rules, reducing issues like overweight luggage and last-minute handling from the start. Upon arriving at the airport, passengers without checked baggage can proceed directly to security screening, while those with luggage can quickly check it at dedicated counters, significantly cutting down on waiting time at the terminal.
The newly launched downtown check-in center leverages a mature airport express comprehensive transportation network. It deeply integrates services such as urban pre-check-in, dedicated shuttle connections, travel information, and cultural tourism convenience into one comprehensive package. This fundamentally changes the traditional travel model where residents and tourists previously had to shuttle back and forth and queue at the airport, enabling one-stop downtown check-in, pre-procedure handling, point-to-point seamless connections, and efficient, convenient travel. It fully adapts to diverse scenarios such as tourist travel, daily commuting for residents, and business trips, continuously optimizing the air-ground intermodal service system.
