Jul 24

Several brain-computer interface (BCI) concept stocks opened higher on Thursday. As of the time of writing, BRAINAURORA-B (06681) rose 8.98% to HKD 1.82, while NANJING PANDA (00553) climbed 6.89% to HKD 3.57. MICROPORT NEURO (02172) also advanced 3.02% to HKD 9.20.

According to reports from CCTV Finance, the brain-computer interface is a critical track for future global industries. Large-scale, high-quality brain signal data is the core foundation for moving this technology from laboratories to industrial commercialization. On July 22, a Chinese research team released a new brain signal acquisition device, achieving the world's first cross-regional synchronous brain signal collection from over a thousand people. This marks a crucial step forward in training neural large models and developing general-purpose BCI technology.

Supportive policies are intensifying

Notably, a series of supportive policies for BCI have been released recently. The State Council's "National Health '15th Five-Year Plan" explicitly calls for strengthening scientific and technological breakthroughs in areas such as brain-computer interfaces. Additionally, 14 departments, including the Ministry of Civil Affairs, jointly issued the "Three-Year Action Plan for Capacity Expansion and Quality Improvement of the Rehabilitation Assistive Device Industry (2026-2028)".

Outlook for a key year

Everbright Securities believes that with the rapid release of industry policies, the smooth progress of clinical trials, and the acceleration of technological updates and iterations, this year is expected to be a critical turning point. It could be the year when BCI technology begins to deliver on its promises and achieve commercial implementation.
