OpenAI's chief revenue officer, Denny's Dresser, is leaving the company after just eight months on the job, marking the second high-profile departure from the artificial intelligence lab in a matter of days.

Dresser, who joined OpenAI in December from Salesforce, where she served as CEO of Slack, departs as the company prepares for a widely anticipated initial public offering. She was responsible for the company's global revenue strategy, including customer success and enterprise-level operations.

The announcement of her departure comes on the heels of senior executive Brad Lightcap's exit on Tuesday, who said on social media platform X that he was planning to "start a new venture."

OpenAI has hired Dali Rajic, former president and chief operating officer of cybersecurity firm Wiz, to fill Dresser's role. The company stated that Dresser is leaving "to pursue other opportunities," according to an official announcement.

Dresser's tenure at OpenAI was brief, having joined the company in December. Prior to that, she spent more than a decade at Salesforce, taking the helm of Slack in 2023 after Salesforce acquired the messaging platform for over $27 billion in 2020.
