On June 4th, the company issued an announcement stating that all production lines of the KPS project, which is part of the second phase of its RKEF project, officially commenced commercial operations in May 2026. This project, a joint investment with an Indonesian partner on Obi Island, Indonesia, comprises 12 production lines with an annual designed capacity of 185,000 metal tonnes of nickel pig iron.
The full-scale operation of the KPS project signifies that the company's Obi project is now fully operational, achieving a scaled annual production capacity of 400,000 metal tonnes of nickel. The announcement noted that the Obi project's commissioning proceeded as planned and in an orderly manner. This continuous enhancement of the company's overall economies of scale, coupled with a steady increase in market share for its nickel products, has created favorable conditions for further cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and resource allocation optimization. It is expected to drive a dual enhancement in the company's profitability and industry influence.
