Shares of XIAOCAIYUAN (00999) surged more than 5% during trading, reaching HK$8.535 with a turnover of HK$34.21 million, representing a gain of 5.76% at the time of writing.
In the first half of this year, the company generated revenue of HK$2.903 billion, a year-on-year increase of 7%, while net profit attributable to shareholders declined 24.2% to HK$290 million due to short-term margin pressure. The earnings dip was primarily driven by the company's deliberate pricing adjustments aimed at enhancing cost-performance value, which consequently increased the proportion of raw material and employee costs relative to revenue.
The board has also resolved to distribute an interim dividend of HK$0.2139 per share, totaling approximately HK$250 million, reflecting an impressive payout ratio of 86.3%. According to the financial report, dine-in revenue expanded 18.1% year-on-year, with its share of total revenue climbing from 60.7% to 67.0%. Conversely, delivery revenue contracted 10.6% year-on-year, with its proportion falling from 39.0% to 32.6%. The table turnover rate improved from 3.1 times per day to 3.5 times per day.
Analysts at Huatai Securities noted that the company actively advanced its membership system development and channel restructuring during the first half, and the "value-for-money strategy coupled with a return to dine-in" approach has already shown tangible results. They anticipate continued earnings improvement as the strategy progresses and the high base effects gradually dissipate.
