Jul 27

KB LAMINATES shares plummeted 5.14% intraday, extending a prolonged downtrend as selling pressure from company insiders and concerns over industry overcapacity continued to weigh on the stock.

Recent exchange filings show executive director Zhang Jiahao sold 1 million shares at an average price of HK$42.10, reducing his stake, while major shareholder Hallgain Management Limited and other directors have also conducted frequent disposals in recent weeks. The persistent insider selling has eroded market confidence, with the stock now down over 60% from its peak. Additionally, securities analysts have warned that concentrated forward capacity releases in the PCB industry are likely to trigger price wars, and current valuations may already fully price in long-term compute demand, leaving limited near-term upside.

The broader electronic components sector also faced headwinds, with KINGBOARD HLDG, FIT HON TENG, and VGT all declining in the same session.
