Deputy Minister of Industry and Information Technology Xin Guobin highlighted that AI is now deeply integrated across industrial chains, from research and design to manufacturing and quality control, noting that real-world training has enabled robots to operate in production, emergency rescue, and catering services.
On the governance front, nearly 200 essential AI standards have been developed, and multiple cities are now conducting pilot projects for AI ethics reviews and service implementation. These efforts aim to balance rapid technological progress with responsible oversight.
Looking at supply-side measures for the coming years, the ministry plans to support breakthroughs in key technologies, including high-end training chips and multimodal algorithms. Research will also target frontier areas such as brain-inspired intelligence and world models, while driving iterative upgrades in intelligent terminals like humanoid robots and brain-computer interfaces. Product development will extend to smart mining machinery, agricultural equipment, and intelligent medical devices.
For practical applications, the focus is on identifying and scaling high-value use cases across various industries. A new model will be introduced to map industry-specific scenarios and maintain detailed records for each, supported by a dedicated program to cultivate application service providers. Drawing on decades of manufacturing expertise, the goal is to deliver lightweight, low-cost, and easily deployable industry solutions, ensuring businesses can access, afford, and effectively utilize these technologies.
Regarding safety, the strategy centers on mitigating risks through robust monitoring, information sharing, and alert mechanisms, alongside the development of a comprehensive vulnerability database for AI products. Technical advancements will continue in areas like deep synthesis detection, model algorithm security, and value alignment to ensure AI remains a tool that serves and is controlled by people.
