Stamford Land Corporation Ltd reported net profit attributable to shareholders of S$29.2 million for the year ended Mar 31 2026, a 10.9 per cent year-on-year decline that the group linked to the closure of its Sir Stamford at Circular Quay hotel and higher operating costs, partly offset by cost-cutting measures across its hospitality portfolio.

Basic and diluted earnings per share fell to 1.97 Singapore cents from 2.21 cents a year earlier. The board has proposed a final one-tier tax-exempt dividend of 0.5 Singapore cent per share, unchanged from the previous year; the books-closure and payment dates will be announced later.

Group revenue inched up 0.3 per cent YoY to S$148.8 million. Hotel owning and management remained the largest contributor at S$121.8 million, down 0.4 per cent, as stronger room rates and occupancies were offset by the Sydney hotel’s shutdown from Oct 1 2025. Property investment revenue improved 4.3 per cent to S$25.3 million on firmer rentals, while property development revenue fell 41 per cent to S$0.5 million following the sale of a single remaining unit at Macquarie Park Village. Trading revenue rose 11.2 per cent to S$0.6 million.

By pre-tax earnings, property investment delivered S$21.3 million, up from S$14.5 million, helped by a S$5.5 million fair-value gain on the group’s London office asset. Hotel owning and management contributed S$16.8 million, marginally higher than the prior year as lower depreciation and tighter cost controls mitigated weaker turnover. Property development’s contribution shrank to S$0.07 million, while the trading division earned S$0.06 million. The “Others” segment, which includes treasury activities, posted S$2.1 million, down from S$9.2 million previously amid softer investment income. Overall group pre-tax profit was broadly flat at S$40.3 million.

Operating cash flow amounted to S$34.4 million. After a S$348.8 million outflow from investing activities—mainly higher time-deposit placements—and S$13.0 million used in financing activities, cash and cash equivalents fell to S$37.0 million at end-March 2026 from S$363.1 million a year earlier. Net asset value per share stood at S$0.61, versus S$0.59 at end-March 2025.

Looking ahead, Stamford Land cautioned that elevated fuel costs, persistent inflation and geopolitical tensions are clouding the outlook for its Australian hotel market and London office asset. The cessation of operations at Sir Stamford at Circular Quay will also remove a source of earnings. Management said it will maintain “a prudent and cautious approach”, focusing on cost discipline, operational efficiency and balance-sheet strength to seize opportunities when conditions improve. As at Mar 31 2026 the group had deployed S$148.7 million of the S$238.9 million raised in its February 2022 rights issue, mainly into cash management instruments.
