Want Want China trims share count by 8.58 million shares through July buy-backs, with further 2.14 million pending cancellation

Want Want China Holdings Limited reported the cancellation of 8.58 million ordinary shares on 17 July 2026, following nine on-market repurchase tranches executed between 2 and 14 July. The cancelled shares represented approximately 0.07 % of the 11.80 billion shares outstanding before the transaction, reducing the issued share capital to 11.79 billion shares.

Repurchase prices for the cancelled shares ranged from HKD 3.16 to HKD 3.42, producing a volume-weighted average cost of roughly HKD 3.29 per share.

In addition, a further 2.14 million shares bought back on 15–17 July at an average HKD 3.43 per share remain pending cancellation. These shares equal about 0.02 % of the updated share count.

Separately, on 17 July Want Want China repurchased 0.74 million shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at prices between HKD 3.40 and HKD 3.45, spending HKD 2.54 million. All of these shares are earmarked for cancellation.

Since securing its current buy-back mandate on 26 August 2025, the company has repurchased 12.12 million shares, utilising roughly 0.10 % of the 1.18 billion shares authorised under the mandate. In line with Hong Kong listing rules, Want Want China is restricted from issuing new shares or disposing of treasury stock until 16 August 2026.
