Stock Track | Docusign Plunges 5.01% in After-Hours as Q1 Earnings Beat Overshadowed by In-Line Full-Year Guidance

Docusign's stock experienced a significant decline of 5.01% in after-hours trading on Thursday, following the release of its first-quarter fiscal 2027 financial results.

Despite reporting quarterly revenue of $830.2 million, which surpassed the consensus estimate of $824.77 million, and adjusted earnings per share of $1.09, beating analyst expectations of $0.99, the market reaction was sharply negative. The primary driver of the sell-off was the company's full-year revenue guidance, which was raised to a range of $3.49 billion to $3.502 billion but only matched the consensus estimate of $3.49 billion, failing to deliver an upside surprise that investors had hoped for.

This guidance, coupled with the stock's substantial rally in the days leading up to the earnings report, triggered a classic "buy-the-rumor, sell-the-fact" trade, with early speculative capital taking profits in the after-hours session.
