Fairwood Holdings released its twelfth Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report for FY 2025/26, detailing progress under its “6C Sustainability Framework” and confirming several milestones in environmental efficiency, supply-chain oversight and community programmes.

Double-Digit Reductions Exceed Targets • Group-wide greenhouse-gas (GHG) emission intensity (Scope 1+2, market-based) fell 14.9 % versus FY 2021/22, already outpacing the 5 % cut targeted by FY 2029/30. Absolute Scope 1+2 emissions dropped to 39,654 tCO₂e. • Energy-use intensity fell 8.6 % from the 2021/22 baseline to 40,438 kWh per HKD million revenue, narrowly beating the 8 % reduction goal set for 2029/30. • Water-consumption intensity dropped 20.9 % to 483 m³ per HKD million revenue, surpassing the 10 % reduction target four years ahead of schedule. • A rooftop solar array at the Tai Po Central Food Processing Plant (CFPP) generated 70,209 kWh in 2025/26, bringing cumulative output since commissioning to 175,061 kWh.

Operational Efficiencies and Waste Initiatives • Smart-kitchen technology, now installed in six outlets, monitors real-time energy and water usage and centrally controls key equipment; a second phase added automatic equipment scheduling. • Participation in CLP Power’s Demand Response Programme and phased replacement of kitchen and dish-washing equipment underpin ongoing energy savings. • Food-waste segregation is in place at the CFPP and selected stores, feeding government-run anaerobic digestion facilities. The chain’s 115 “Live a GREEN Life” counters diverted about 232 tonnes of coffee grounds and lemon peels for community reuse. • Single-use plastics have been curtailed: plastic straws were eliminated chain-wide in 2018, and alternative bamboo, bagasse and stainless-steel cutlery sets are now offered.

Product and Supply-Chain Advancements • Eight “Ah Wood Soft Meal” dishes—Hong Kong’s first quick-service IDDSI-compliant menu—address the needs of customers with swallowing difficulties; 40 % of stores have upgraded to 4th or 4.5-generation layouts with barrier-free features. • Fairwood’s Supplier Code of Conduct requires key vendors to hold HACCP or ISO 22000 certification; 9 local and 163 overseas suppliers were engaged during the year.

People and Culture Metrics • Total workforce stood at 4,648, with part-timers accounting for 43 % of staff; average monthly turnover eased to 4.3 % from 5.5 %. • Employees completed 55,383 training hours (11.9 hours per capita), driven by the new “3-Hour Learning KPI” and a mobile “Training Assistant” app. • No work-related fatalities were recorded for the fifth consecutive year; work-injury days lost fell 3 % to 5,758.

Community Investments and DEI • Through partnerships with over 20 NGOs, Fairwood sponsored 43 Hong Kong handball athletes’ breakfasts, distributed 40,000 soft-meal vouchers and supported elderly initiatives, bringing cumulative dining voucher donations under the HKSAR’s Caring Food Coupon Programme to 230,000 sets. • The chain earned the “15+ Caring Company Logo” and “Leading Performance” citations from the Hong Kong Council of Social Service and remained the only fast-food signatory to the Equal Opportunities Commission’s Racial Diversity & Inclusion Charter.

Governance, Ethics and Data Security • No confirmed breaches of anti-bribery, data-privacy or advertising regulations were reported. • A strengthened whistleblowing framework, annual anti-corruption training for 262 employees and upgraded cybersecurity monitoring underscore the Group’s zero-tolerance stance toward malpractice.

Outlook Management will continue rolling out smart-kitchen controls, expand ESG training and seek further drops in resource intensity, while periodically reviewing climate targets in line with evolving regulatory and stakeholder expectations.
