Visitors to scenic areas in Liaoning Province will increasingly enjoy the convenience of purchasing local specialty agricultural products while admiring the views, creating a seamless transition from sightseeing to shopping. This new model aims to boost the integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism, fostering a "farm products plus tourism" consumption pattern that supports the development of rural specialty industries.
The provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, along with the Department of Culture and Tourism, have collaborated with municipal authorities in Shenyang to launch a pilot program for introducing agricultural products into scenic spots. Key venues such as the Shenyang Imperial Palace Lucky Market, the "Still Shenyang" immersive cultural tourism complex, and the Shenyang Granary-themed creative park have been selected as the first batch of scenic areas to participate in this initiative.
There are specific entry criteria for the featured agricultural products entering these scenic spots. They must promote Liaoning’s specialty fresh agricultural goods and processed food items, including fresh fruits and vegetables, grain and oil products, dried nuts, snacks, and agricultural cultural creative derivatives. Specifically, products should be suitable for display, experiential sales, and cultural creative scenarios at scenic sites, with high quality and assured food safety. This includes fresh agricultural products like grains, oils, livestock, poultry, aquatic products, fruits, vegetables, Chinese medicinal herbs, and flowers, as well as processed food products.
Additionally, these agricultural products must have a stable supply chain, warehousing, distribution, and quality control system to ensure continuous supply. Priority will be given to products with regional public brands, famous, special, new, and superior certifications, geographical indications, green labels, or organic certifications.
