PLS Group Ltd's stock plummeted 5.19% during intraday trading on Friday, following the company's announcement of significant capital expenditure for its P2000 project.

The mining company approved near A$175 million in pre-FID (Final Investment Decision) capital expenditure to position itself to deliver FID in the December quarter of 2026. The P2000 feasibility study is progressing with outcomes expected in the same quarter, and the project is anticipated to target first ore in mid-2029.

Investors appeared to react negatively to the substantial near-term capital outlay required for a project with returns not expected until several years in the future, creating selling pressure on the stock during the trading session.
