Zhaoke Ophthalmology Limited has signed an Exclusive Distribution and Promotion Agreement with Pharmentum Biopharma (Beijing) Co., Ltd. to commercialize Epinastine Hydrochloride Eye Drops across Mainland China, excluding Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. The initial cooperation period is five years; if Pharmentum Biopharma achieves at least 80% of the cumulative procurement target and no material breaches occur, the contract will be automatically extended once, bringing the total potential term to ten years.
Epinastine Hydrochloride Eye Drops are Zhaoke Ophthalmology’s self-developed generic version of Elestat®. Approved by China’s National Medical Products Administration on 19 November 2025, the formulation targets symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis. Clinical validation using a conjunctival allergen challenge model indicates a rapid onset within three minutes and efficacy lasting at least eight hours, with a favorable safety and tolerability profile. Mechanistically, the product combines potent H1 receptor antagonism with mast-cell stabilisation, addressing both early-phase histamine-mediated symptoms and downstream inflammatory mediator release.
Allergic conjunctivitis is triggered by common environmental allergens, leading to recurrent ocular itching, redness and discharge that substantially affect patients’ daily activities. The dual-action profile of Epinastine Hydrochloride Eye Drops positions it as a first-line therapy in this market.
Pharmentum Biopharma focuses on innovative consumer medicines and is led by executives with backgrounds in leading internet healthcare platforms, multinational pharmaceutical companies and top consulting firms. Its legal representative, Jin Enlin, previously served as CEO of JD Health International Inc. and brings extensive experience in China’s full-channel pharmaceutical supply chain and digital healthcare services.
Zhaoke Ophthalmology highlighted that future sales revenue from Epinastine Hydrochloride Eye Drops cannot be guaranteed and advised shareholders and potential investors to exercise caution when dealing in the company’s shares.
