According to informed sources, OpenAI is close to securing approximately $10 billion in new funding from investors, which would raise its valuation to $850 billion including the newly raised capital. This confirms an earlier report by Bloomberg News.

The sources indicated that investors include Abu Dhabi's MGX, Coatue, and Thrive Capital. Altimeter Capital is also expected to participate in this funding round. The deal is anticipated to be finalized next week.

This additional capital would bring the total raised in OpenAI's latest funding round to around $12 billion, highlighting strong investor demand for artificial intelligence companies.

Discussions are still ongoing, and the final investment amount could change.

The ChatGPT developer announced last month that it was raising $11 billion from backers including Amazon, Nvidia, and SoftBank Group as it increases spending on computational infrastructure and talent acquisition.
