A student team from Zunyi Vocational and Technical College, named the "Tea Aroma Smart Wings Dream Chaser Group," carried out a social practice event in Xiaoya Township, Zheng'an County, from July 23 to 26, 2026.

The team used drone technology as a key tool to support rural development through a series of activities including roundtable discussions, educational programs for children, and crop protection knowledge sessions for local farmers. Their goal was to inject youthful energy into rural vitalization with technological innovation.

Sparking Scientific Curiosity in Young Minds

The team conducted a drone science popularization class for teenagers in Tongziping Village. Using a teaching model, they explained the basic principles of flight in simple terms and demonstrated fundamental operations.

The children were captivated as they watched the rotors spin, their eyes filled with wonder and curiosity. Though brief, the class planted a seed of scientific and technological innovation in the hearts of these rural youth.

Empowering Mountain Agriculture with Technology

The team then moved into a sorghum field to demonstrate agricultural drone technology to local villagers. They operated a large-scale crop protection drone, showcasing its full range of applications, including lifting, pesticide spraying, and seeding.

The demonstration highlighted the drones' advantages in saving time and labor, reducing agricultural input costs, and achieving high operational efficiency. The villagers showed great interest, especially in the drones' adaptability to complex mountainous terrain.

The team patiently answered practical questions from the farmers about operational difficulty, usage costs, and terrain suitability, helping them to see the tangible benefits that modern agricultural technology can bring.

Integrating Education and Agricultural Support

This practice activity used drone technology as a bridge to combine professional learning with service to the countryside, achieving a two-pronged approach of science education and agricultural technology support.

Through this hands-on experience, the students honed their practical skills, deepened their sense of responsibility, and demonstrated the commitment of the new generation. The team plans to continue leveraging their professional expertise to promote the regular, long-term application of technology-driven agricultural support, providing sustained youthful energy for rural vitalization.
