HSBC Holdings Announces Leadership Change for Audit Committee Chair Role

HSBC Holdings has issued a statement confirming a shift in leadership for its Group Audit Committee, effective from August 5, 2026.
According to the announcement, James Maher will succeed Noel Quinn as the Chairman of the Group Audit Committee. This transition follows Quinn's planned appointment as Group Chairman, after which he will step down from his current roles as Chairman of the Group Audit Committee and as a member of the Group Risk Committee.
In addition to these changes, Maher has been appointed as a member of the Group Technology and Operations Committee. Furthermore, Betty Yap has been appointed as a member of the Group Remuneration Committee.
