Pop Mart Founder Reflects on First-Half Results: Challenges Outweighed Expectations, Outcomes Surpassed Forecasts

On the afternoon of August 20, POP MART released its 2026 interim report, revealing first-half revenue of RMB 17.17 billion, a year-on-year increase of 23.8%. Adjusted net profit reached RMB 5.16 billion, with an adjusted net margin of 30% and a gross margin of 69.7%. According to the report, the company operates 676 offline stores and 2,827 robotic vending machines globally, with cumulative registered members surpassing 100 million. In the Chinese market, POP MART runs 455 stores, generating revenue of RMB 12.2 billion, a robust growth of 47.3%.

During the 2026 interim results presentation, POP MART founder Wang Ning remarked, "The first half of this year was quite distinctive for us. The pressure was significantly greater than we anticipated, and we faced numerous difficulties and challenges that we had not foreseen." He added, "However, the results we've shared today reflect both areas where we fell short and many aspects that exceeded our expectations. I am deeply grateful for the efforts of all our colleagues, who ultimately delivered a report card that I am personally very satisfied with."

Wang Ning's comments underscored a sentiment of resilience amid adversity, acknowledging the unexpected hurdles while expressing pride in the team's performance. The strong revenue growth, particularly in the domestic market, highlights the company's ability to navigate a complex operating environment and sustain momentum across its expanding global footprint.
