Lam Research Surges Over 20%, Eyes Biggest Daily Gain Since January 1999

Lam Research shares skyrocketed in Thursday morning trading, jumping $51.17, or 20.28%, to $303.52. This surge is on track to be the stock's largest single-day percentage gain since January 5, 1999, when it rose 32.89%. The rally snapped a four-day losing streak for the semiconductor equipment maker.

Despite today's sharp rebound, Lam Research has still fallen 29.96% so far this month, putting it on pace for its worst monthly performance since December 2002, when it dropped 33.5%. Year-to-date, the stock is up 77.31%. It remains 29.96% below its all-time closing high of $433.33, set on June 30, 2026. Compared to 52 weeks ago (July 31, 2025), when it closed at $94.84, the stock has gained 220.03%. Its 52-week closing high is $433.33 (June 30, 2026), and its 52-week closing low is $94.84 (July 31, 2025).

During the session, Lam Research reached an intraday high of $319.50, with the peak gain hitting 26.61%. This is the largest intraday percentage increase since January 5, 1999, when the stock rose as much as 34.21% during the trading day. It is currently the best-performing stock in the S&P 500 and the second-best performer in the Nasdaq 100 for the day.
